Dear Friends of Our Lady,
Regardless of your perspective on the current upheaval, there is no doubt about the magnitude of the crisis we face at this time.
As we reflect on historical examples, e.g. Lepanto, LaVendee, and Malta, it has always been the Catholic Church and its faithful who have united and altered the tide of history. We can again mount a crusade to "Restore All Things in Christ." We have within our power, as no one else does, all the tools necessary to alter the course of this crisis if God so desires. Despite the punishment we deserve, we still have recourse through Our Lady and her rosary, personal sacrifices, spiritual communions, novenas, in-home holy hours, et al., to again change the tide.
We come to you today with an idea to help implement this plan. We are asking your participation and the participation of your families, especially the youth and young adults, in what is called the "Living Rosary." This beautiful practice began in France in 1826, and Pope Gregory XVI declared St. Philomena the Patroness of the Living Rosary in 1837. It has massive potential, is very easy, but does require committed participants.
Each person who signs up agrees to say only one specified decade of the rosary each day, any time of the day or night. The decade includes an Our Father, ten Hail Mary’s, and a Glory Be while meditating on the assigned mystery. Those given the 1st Joyful Mystery and the 5th Glorious mystery will pray the beginning or ending prayers of the Rosary. We do not want this to interfere with other family rosaries or devotions, but only to augment in a unified way what is already being done.
Our intentions will be: 1) Reparation — as the crisis is due to sin
2) Intercession of Our Lady
The first 15 people will receive the first 15 mysteries and start praying ASAP. When we get more participants, we will fill up 15-decade rosaries and start praying them as we are able. Please email olphsodalityicc@gmail.com if you would like to be included. This Living Rosary will be continued through the end of this June, the month of the Sacred Heart. If you find that you cannot keep your commitment, please just let us know.
If the faithful could alter the course for the Crusaders at Lepanto, we can do the same for the Catholic Church and the world today.
