A plenary indulgence for the Poor Souls in Purgatory may be gained by any of the faithful from 12:00 noon on November 1st to 12:00 midnight on November 2nd (Note: When November 2nd is a Sunday, then All Souls Day is transferred to November 3rd, and the time for gaining the indulgence transfers accordingly from noon on November 2nd to midnight on November 3rd). They may gain the indulgence each time they visit a church in suffrage for the Poor Souls, provided that they have made a good confession and received absolution and have worthily received Holy Communion, and that they pray vocally (i.e. moving their lips) at each separate visit six times the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and the Glory Be to the Father for the intentions of the conversion of sinners and the freedom and exaltation of Our Holy Mother the Church (which are intentions of all true Catholic Supreme Pontiffs). It is also necessary to gain the indulgence that one’s will be free from attachment to all habits of even venial sins. Those who are unable to gain the indulgence on the celebration of the All Souls feast day itself may do so the weekend following All Souls Day from 12:00 noon of Saturday until 12:00 midnight on Sunday.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord!
